HYPERTENSION MANAGEMENT

The hypertension program will provide information on how to lower your blood pressure. Topics include:

  • How to make blood-pressure-lowering lifestyle changes
  • Medications used to treat blood pressure
  • Blood pressure monitoring
We have digital blood pressure monitors available for home use to help us better manage your therapy. We may adjust or change your medications to help you maintain good control and to prevent side effects.TIPS ON LIVING WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
  • High blood pressure can be treated.
  • Losing weight or eating less salt may produce good results.
  • If you're on medication, be patient and don't stop treatment.  Report any side effects.
  • It may take several weeks to adjust to a drug.
  • Death rates from heart and blood vessel diseases, stroke, and kidney diseases have decreased significantly. This is probably due to earlier and better treatment of high blood pressure.
