ASTHMA MANAGEMENT

This program provides education about asthma, a disease that makes the airways in your lungs inflamed. Asthma can be managed so that you can live a normal life.Clinical pharmacists will work with you to provide:

  • Education about medications used to treat asthma
  • Education about peak flow monitor
  • Proper inhaler technique
  • Education about environmental triggers and how to avoid them
  • An action plan which will help you better manage your asthma at home
Who would benefit from this program?
  • If you are newly diagnosed with asthma
  • If you are currently using greater than 1 canister per month of albuterol ( a "rescue" inhaler)
  • If you do not have an Action Plan to manage your asthma
  • If you have questions about peak flow monitoring, medications, or other aspects of your asthma
